Housing policy gets decided at every level of government, from city councils to the state capitol to Washington. LSAR’s focus sits closest to home: the local and regional decisions that shape zoning, land use, and housing supply across the Lake Superior region.
That work rarely happens alone. LSAR partners with external organizations, municipalities, and community groups to advance issues and put resources in front of the people who need them. At the same time, LSAR coordinates with NAR and the state associations, giving national and state advocacy efforts a ground-level view of how policy plays out where members actually do business.

The REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) is the political arm of the REALTOR® organization, uniting members nationwide in support of candidates who champion the profession and the interests of property owners. Founded in 1969, RPAC operates on a strictly bipartisan basis, evaluating candidates on their record and positions rather than party affiliation. Through RPAC, REALTORS® maintain an organized, consistent voice on the issues that define the industry: private property rights, housing affordability, and reasonable limits on regulation. Participation is voluntary and separate from association dues. Members invest through the state association that serves their market.
MN-RPAC, the Minnesota Realtors® Political Action Committee, is a bipartisan PAC that supports candidates and legislators who advocate for homeowners and the real estate industry. Contributions are voluntary and separate from membership dues, and go directly toward protecting REALTORS® and their clients from policies that would harm the industry.
Wisconsin REALTORS® can support advocacy through two paths: RPAC-WI, the Wisconsin REALTORS® Political Action Committee, which funds candidates who champion property rights, housing affordability, and REALTOR® priorities regardless of party; and Direct Giver, which lets members direct contributions to specific state and local candidates while still benefiting organized real estate. Both are voluntary and separate from membership dues.
